Our finishing process is the crowning moment for each piece of Julian Nyland furniture. Here in the finisihing room the innate beauty of the wood is coaxed forth with impeccable Julian Nyland care & craftmanship.

Our finishing process entails a complex series of color applications using clear dyes rather than opaque pigments. Various stains applied by hand are the most important as they penetrate deeply into the wood fiber to blend with the natural color tones of the wood.

Multiple coats of lacquer are applied to seal the color in place and provide a heat and stain resistant surface. Meticulous hand rubbing creates various sheen levels specific to the finish you choose.
